Let’s Make Senior Year Simple

I know how busy senior year can be—between sports, applications, and graduation prep, time flies. My goal is to make the photography portion of this milestone the easiest thing on your to-do list. Here is how I help you navigate the process.

1. Meeting School Deadlines

Every school has different requirements and deadlines for yearbook submissions. Once we’ve finished our session, I can help ensure your favorite shot meets the necessary digital specifications so your senior is represented exactly how they want to be.

2. High-Quality Prints & Products

While digital images are great for social media, there’s nothing like seeing your child’s portrait in a high-quality print at their graduation party. I offer professional printing services, custom albums, and graduation announcements that look and feel premium.

To make things easy, you can order prints directly from the online gallery link you’ll receive once your photos are finished. As a special thank you, your gallery will include a 25% off coupon that can be used for all prints and professional products! This ensures you get the highest quality heirloom pieces at a fantastic value.

3. A Stress-Free Environment

I’ve raised two kids of my own, so I know that sometimes "photo day" can feel high-pressure. I pride myself on creating a relaxed, fun atmosphere where your senior feels comfortable. When they feel at ease, we get those genuine, "that’s my kid!" smiles that you’ll cherish forever.

4. Group Sessions for Extra Fun

If your senior is nervous about a solo shoot, suggest a Group Session with their friends! It’s a great way for them to loosen up, and it’s a wonderful way for you to get photos of the friend group that has been part of your lives for years.

Important Dates to Remember:

  • Yearbook Deadlines: Usually fall between October and January. I recommend booking no later than September to ensure plenty of time for editing!

  • Graduation Announcements: Most parents order these in March or April.

The Senior Session Checklist: Your Guide to a Smooth Day

To make sure we spend our time capturing great shots rather than worrying about the small stuff, here is a quick guide to help you and your senior prepare.

1. Outfits & Wardrobe

  • Iron or Steam: Camera lenses pick up wrinkles easily! Make sure all outfits are pressed and on hangers.

  • The "Underneath" Matters: Bring appropriate undergarments for each outfit (nude tones, strapless bras, or specific socks for dress shoes).

  • Check for Lint: Give everything a quick pass with a lint roller before you leave the house.

  • Shoes: Don't forget the shoes! Make sure they match the outfits and are clean/scuff-free.

2. Grooming & Details

  • Hair: Avoid a brand-new haircut the day before; give it a week to "settle." Bring a brush and hairspray for wind or humidity.

  • Nails: Chipped polish shows up in close-up shots. Clean, neutral nails or a fresh manicure work best.

  • Shaving: For those who shave, a fresh shave the morning of the session is best to avoid "five o'clock shadow."

  • Skin: Don't worry about a surprise blemish! I provide professional retouching. Avoid heavy SPF lotions right before the shoot, as they can cause "flashback" or shine.

3. The "Go-Bag" Essentials

  • Water & Snacks: Especially for outdoor sessions, staying hydrated is key to keeping energy high.

  • Mirror: A small handheld mirror for quick checks between outfit changes.

  • Personal Props: Graduation cap/gown, sports jerseys, musical instruments, or even the family dog (just let me know ahead of time!).

  • Touch-up Kit: Lip balm, powder for shine, and a few safety pins just in case.

4. A Note for Parents

  • The Hype Person: You are welcome to stay and help! I love having a parent there to help with a stray hair or to share an inside joke that gets that perfect, genuine laugh.
